Aaron VanDevender
Founder & CEO
Aaron VanDevender, PhD, is the founder and CEO of Methid, a biology automation company that uses AI to improve the veracity and productivity of biomedical research and diagnostics.
Prior to Methid, Aaron served as the Chief Scientist at Founders Fund where he led the firm’s deep tech investing and conducted independent research. During his tenure, he led early bets on companies in pharmaceuticals, synthetic biology, telecommunications, and quantum computing. Aaron has developed single-photon and single-atom quantum computers, next-generation DNA sequencing technology, and advanced the theory for microscopic black holes and dark matter.
He received an SB from MIT and a PhD in physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In addition to entrepreneurial science, he is an eight-time world record holder in formation skydiving.
